23 December 2021Millions of women around the world suffer from sexual problems. Vaginismus, dyspareunia (pain during sexual intercourse), vulvadynia (pain in the vulva region) are problems that many women experience but have difficulty in expressing due to personal embarrassment and social taboos. Such problems can have many biological, psychological and social sources. The structure we call the pelvic floor has an important place in the understanding of biological resources. Consisting of muscles, ligaments and fascia sticking into the pelvic floor pelvis (pelvis); It is the structure that holds the bladder, reproductive organs and rectum like a hammock. If this structure does not fulfill its function ideally, sexual dysfunctions may occur. In our seminar, we will talk about sexual dysfunctions in women on the basis of the pelvic floor. There will be a woman-to-woman conversation, where we will try to increase our awareness and knowledge level on this subject by going through the following topics. -What is the pelvic floor and how does it work? How do we use our pelvic floor muscles? -What is the relationship between pain during sexual intercourse and the pelvic floor? -What is the place and importance of pelvic floor rehabilitation in the treatment of sexual dysfunctions?
